Abstract: Based on the field study on the land desertification in northwest Sichuan Province, the authors of this paper analysized the current state and cause of land desertification in northwest Sichuan Province. From theperspectives of sicientific outlook on development and building the new socialistcountryside, the authors put forward some countermeasures for control and prevention of land desertification in northwest Sichuan with an aim to provide a sicientific basis for decision/policy making for the desertification combating efforts in the country.
