Research of a WEBGIS-based information management system for forestry resources calculation gives a seamless integrative system based on MIS and GIS by using the NFI baseline data of Shandong Province and related model of the foundational information and the calculation on the check of forest resources in Shandong Province with the WEBGIS technology and the networking as the core, ASP.NET and the MAPGIS technology as the method and SQL SERVER as the background database, to overlap remote sensing classification results and GIS. In this way it’s possible to achieve forest resources property calculation and forest resources production calculation, compile forest resources calculation and the report form and the forest resources spatial distribution dynamic inquiry and output so as to provide superintendents with basic information to appraise and formulate forest policy and plan.
