Abstract

Soil microbe is ecologically important contributor to various functioning of forest ecosystems.Because of the elevation gradient, subtropical mountainous forests are a complex ecosystem where the nutrient availability and soil conditions vary with elevation levels. Therefore, the subtropical mountainous forests provide aunique opportunity to study the relationship between forest microbial communities and multiple environmental factors. In this study,we present a comprehensive analysis of soil bacterial community composition and diversity along six elevations representing six typical vegetation types in a subtropical mountainous forest at the Lushan,China.A total of 24 phyla,49 classes and 62 orders were confirmed with the method of high-throughput sequencing technology. At the phylum level, the dominant phyla were Acidobacteria(53.84%),Proteobacteria(30.15%)and Actinobacteria(7.36%);other phyla, such as Bacteroidetes and Chloroflexi(0.64% and 0.28%),were much less abundant.Ellin 6513 was the most abundant order in soil bacterial community. The composition and diversity of bacterial communities did not show a certain trend across an elevation gradient from low via medium to high.Among the soil chemical indexes, the organic carbon and total mitrogen confent are more relevent to the soil bacterial community in the Lushan forest.
