Dynamic Monitoring of Vegetation in the Upper Reaches of the Fenhe River in Recent 10 Years Based on MODIS

Abstract

Abstract: Vegetation is the most important part of the ecosystem.Vegetative coverage is used as an indicator for studying its temporal and spatial features in the study area,which is regarded as a basis for assassing the health of the ecosystem.In this paper,the upper reaches of the Fenhe River in Shanxi Province is taken as the study area.For the study,remote sensing and GIS technologies are used together with MODIS-NUVI data,tendency analysis method and digital elevation model (DEM) for carrying out the research on the temporal and spatial changes of the vegetation coverage in the upper reaches of the Fenhe River.
