The Present Situation and Reflections of Non-commercial Forests in Guangdong Province

Abstract

Abstract: The paper introduces the status and the achievements of non-commercial forests in Guangdong Province over the past decade, including the policies and system establishment,divisions for management, ecological benefit compensation, management, ecological benefit monitoring, and so on. Presently, there are some issues in the management of non-commercial forests in Guangdong Province, such as low management level, lack of development potential, weak capacity of resisting disasters etc. Finally, some relevant countermeasures and proposals were put forward.
